Bachmann N Scale Model Trains

Bachmann is a Hong Kong based model train manufacturer. The company was established in 1833, but during that time, they were selling vanity products and specialized ornaments. It was only during the 40s that Bachmann entered into the model train industry. They started out selling different handcrafted products and ornaments but they eventually moved to sunglasses after the civil war. Their stint with model trains started in the 60s wherein they developed trains made of plastic along with other model toys. Because of low sales, other products were eventually dropped except for model trains. Bachmann Industries is now owned by Kader Industries since its acquisition in 1981. Bachmann is reputedly the biggest manufacturer of model trains.

The company started production of this type of model in 1966 because of the increasing popularity of smaller scales. The N scale model trains of Bachmann, like its other models were made of plastic. Although perceived as lacking in quality because of the quantity of model trains released every year, the accuracy of design is still remarkable. All new versions of their N scale model trains features DCC (Direct Command Control) as the company moves towards improvement of this type of feature which will be implemented in most of their model trains. The price is also highly competitive because of their mass production as well as affordable components.
